| SMS CASI® Scatterometer. |
Our laboratory uses the SMS CASI® Scatterometer the most advanced
and accurate instrument available. The CASI uses angle resolved BRDF technology.
Its features include numerous wavelength capabilities from UV through IR, the
ability to measure sample scatter to within 0.1 degree of specular, and a noise
floor below 1E-10 SR-¹ at .6328 microns. Other features of the CASI include:
- Bidirectional Reflective/Transmissive Distribution Function (BRDF/BTDF).
- Scatter measurements at laser wavelengths from .325 to 10.6 microns. Contact
SMS regarding your specific wavelength requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to measure near specular scatter, to within 0.1°
degree of specular for many samples.
- Calculated surface statistics from BRDF, including RMS roughness and power
spectral density function from surfaces as smooth as 0.1 angstrom.
- Total integrated scatter calculated from BSDF over user defined solid angle,
both in reflection and transmission.
- Total Diffuse Reflectance and Total Diffuse Transmittance from diffuse materials.
- Raster area scans of BRDF or BTDF to quantify scatter uniformity across a
sample.
- BRDF and BTDF results provided on a data disk with the complete SMS CASI Analysis
Software demo package.
